Dean Carangelo |
| The year was 1997 when a friendly game of poker changed to lets play some guitar. Liking the sound, Dean Carangelo, Chuck Rossbach and Bryan Nigro decided to form a band. The initial lineup was Dean on bass and Vocals, Chuck on drums, and Bryan on Guitar. After months of garage playing, singing covers of Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters and one or two originals the band, then known as Black Teddy brought in the guitar styling of Mike Morici for a few sessions. The chemistry was amazing, he was in. With this new member Bryan took over the bass, Mike on guitars and Dean on vocals. The new group had to have a new name, after tossing around ideas here and there it was settled on Another Stupid Cult (ASC). The band played various gigs locally and created classic, timeless songs such as Chicken Soup, Supa Johnny, Wiggers, You Gotta Pay and Scrambled Porn. After 3 years, Dean left, but the band remained and brought in Mike Nigro for a second guitarist while Mike M. continued to play and took over the role of lead singer. In the meantime, Dean worked on his solo acoustic ideas, now and again working with Mike. Currently Dean is working on a solo acoustic demo featuring songs written from 2000 through the present. | |
